Bear Creek In Mariposa County,Mariposa Photos,Mariposa 2005

Last Friday, Bear Creek was flowing heavily
into the Merced River, bringing untold
amounts of gold down with it as it cascades downhill
approximately 2000 ft.

This photo was taken just above the waterfall at the top of Bear Creek next to the 140 as you leave Midpines before going down into the Merced River Canyon. I am told there are very deep pockets in that creek as it drops down to the Merced River creating a hiding place for gold nuggets!!
