This photo was taken from the base of Upper Yosemite Falls, looking to the right of the falls.Sunday was definitely jacket weather up this trail to the top of Yosemite Falls with swirling clouds and occasional rain drops. |

how do you know? you couldn't see them if they were there! you must really get around! how did you get to the base of upper yosemite? my dad took me there once when i was a kid. no trail, no nothing, just little piles of three rocks to show the way. once there, we stood behind the falls (mid-summer, when it was possible) and it was great! like being in a bass drum in a rainstorm. i see you have the date, 5:47 am. but that isn't when you took the photo. unless you have a REALLY BIG flash bulb. |

Grizzy, The time is when the photo was uploaded to the net. To get to the base of Upper Yosemite Falls, you start out at Camp 4 which is Sunnyside Campground. It is 3.6 miles to the top of Yosemite Falls,so it must be about 1.5 miles to the bottom of the Upper Falls. The trail is rated as strenous, and as I am not a kid I would say the rating is right, although my sixteen year old son said it was easy.Getting behind a waterfall is something I have not done yet, maybe this summer. If I do, the camera will be with me. Thanks for the message, grizzy. |
