The Goldrushcam Crew headed East yesterday over Tioga Pass as the road opened. No snow was on the road or even like driving through a tunnel of snow as one does going up to Glacier Point in the Winter months. The big hang up for the late opening must have been rock slides as evidence of that could be found in many places. An early morning breakfast in Lee Vining at Nicely's Restaurant kept us going for many hours as we explored the Mono Lake area, even climbing up to one of the Mono Craters and gazing at all the Obsidian on the ground from the volcanoes that erupted as late as about 600 years ago. |
