Looking East from high above a granite overlook above
Olmsted Point in Yosemite National Park, the blue of Lake Tenaya
stands out in deep contrast to the surrounding granite formations.

After huffing and puffing to the top of this lookout, that is at about 9000ft plus elevation,
and enduring the blowing wind, the 360 degree views are worth the climb to the top.The granite is very rough not weather worn smooth, so the climb is safe to this lookout. Summertime lightning storms must be spectacular in the high country of Yosemite. We kept an eye on the cloud formations as they built up during the day in the East.
