As July starts, the temperature sure feels like a firecracker. Hard to believe we had 57 inches of rain this rainfall season, but I guess just one look at the tremendous weed growth outside would reconfirm that. Another drive over to Mono Lake through the high country of Yosemite seems like a good idea if the temps stay this warm. Stopping at Lake Tenaya and braving the icy waters might be fun. Mariposa is putting on a big bash this holiday weekend, along with everything else going on,the History Center on Monday, will have craft booths set up with hand crafted items for sale along with gold panning and I think a working stamp mill. Yvonne will be there displaying her exquisite fine wire wrapped hand crafted jewelry made with gemstones and Austrian crystals. She also will have some Dichroic Glass on display, so if you do not know what Dichroic Glass is, now is the time to come and see this fascinating layered glass that has been fired in a kiln. |
