High Desert Country Surrounding Mono Lake, Yosemite Photos,Yosemite 2005

The country side surrounding Mono Lake is made up of
chaparral in this high desert environment at 7000 ft. Also
ringed by different mountain ranges in what seems
to be a big basin much like the Great Salt Lake in Utah.

As we are into the middle of the Fourth Of July Weekend, the temperature is moderating a little for us that are out and about. Tomorrow is the big day in Mariposa, with all sorts of happenings, including a craft fair at the History Center. Stop in and say hi to Yvonne as she demonstrates wire wrapping techniques! I will be on a walking tour of Mariposa, learning more about the history of the area. Also if you like book signings, Mr. Radanovich will be at the History Center signing his new book for 2005.
