At the top of the first photo the anemometer can be seen. it spins in the wind and records wind velocity. It is approximately 23 feet off of the ground, but sits above the house on a hill that boosts it to about 32- 35 feet in the air. The round chamber in the bottom photo is the rain collector that measures the rainfall. The white box on the front with an antenna is a solar panel that powers the unit. The antenna transmits the data to the base station in the house. The round contraption on the bottom are where the temp and humidty gauges are housed. Just by the way, the trees in the background are oak trees that stay green all year long. They drop a few leaves at a time all year long. |
