Unicorn Peak In Yosemite,Yosemite Photos,Yosemite 2005

Unicorn Peak in Yosemite reaches almost 11000 ft in elevation
as it towers into the sky on a June day.
Another cool picture as the temps try to stay in the
100 degree range.

How cool would it be if you climbed to the top of this peak? Theory says that for every 1000 ft in elevation gain, the temp drops three degrees.
So if it was 97 at 3000 ft elevation, at Unicorn Peak the temp would be about 76 degrees since the peak is close to 11000 ft. But it probably would have some wind up there making the real feel temp even lower.
