A Mariposa Sunset,Mariposa Photos,Mariposa 2005

It was a beautiful sunset last night.
With the bright warm colors reflecting off of
the clouds before another night descends on
the town of Mariposa and the symphony
of katydids start up for the night,
sometimes with a few frogs adding
a baritone back up.

Should be another hot one today. The low last night up here was 77.
But with clouds in the area, it might not get that hot hopefully. But then the humidity goes up and the coolers do not work that good.
Yesterday the ouside humidty bottomed out at about 13-14%, enabling us to have a 25 degree temp difference in the house with humidty under 50% in the house also. Almost 99 outside yesterday while the house stayed at 74 degrees.
PG&E must really dislike these coolers I bet!

Anyway there is a party in Coulterville this Sat and Sunday at the park in town. It has the very appropriate name of Sultry Summer Shindig and it is the third annual event.

i've always thought that clouds made it warmer the next day because the earth's warmth didn't get a chance to escape - but i dunno.

i have enough trouble just trying to stay cool! but one thing i know for sure:

red sky in the morning, sailor take warning.
red sky at night, sailor's delight.
