Wow !! Is four dollar gas in our near future? What are you going to do about it? But cheer up for there is Music at the Arts Park again tonight, featuring a local country and western band playing songs you will remember. It starts at about 7:00 PM Mariposa Time you know, with free admission, but tips are highly appreciated, next to the Pizza Factory in Downtown Mariposa !! The Goldrushcam Crew missed the music last night as we rested up to watch the Perseid Meteor Shower last night (Saturday Morning) till about three in the morning. It was a good time as meteors whizzed by hither and thither landing who knows where. If you ever find one, consider yourself very lucky plus a collector might give you more than you can imagine for it. Remember the breakfast in Coulterville tomorrow, BANDERITA BREAKFAST Aug. 14 Banderita cheese enchiladas with side of black-bean chili and eggs, any style. Or pancakes, eggs and sausage or ham. Proceeds benefit the Northern Mariposa County History Center. 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Old Schoolhouse, Broadway and Cemetery streets, Coulterville. $2.50 children; $4 adults; $12 family of four. 878-3015. Enjoy the weekend as the weather seems like it is finally going to give us some relief :-) |

it's good to hear that you saw some meteors - a friend saw ABSOLUTELY nothing the night before. i guess it's because you are a good person and he isn't! my mother played the piano at the church bowl in yosemite for many years. do you happen to know if it is still in operation? your picture showed there was nothing around the church. does that mean other stuff in the old village is gone? like the store? and the movie theater? i used to work at the store, and rob and i had our first date at the theater. an elizabeth taylor movie was playing. (i know i'm out of date about yosemite, but we haven't been there in a LONG time. it's just not the same, but i guess we aren't either! |
