Good Morning Grizzy, yes I have a feeling you will also know where this photo was taken. No you did not send me yesterdays photo but you probably could have, right? You know the Goldrushcam Crew gets around ! Front roads, back roads, sometimes no roads as we explore the ends of the county just to see what is there. Kind of like old time explorers only we have four wheels now and have air conditioning,(Thanks Bob!), instead of four hoofs under us. Have a great day and take some photos today and everyday. |

A note to Richard: At the park last night I found out that Friday night was the last of the music on Friday nights. But do not worry because after the fair there will be five, yes that is right, five, more Saturdays of music to enjoy. It ends on October 15th,(My birthday, no you do not have to get me anything, unless you really want to!). |

I think there is a Chili Cook Off at the Airport Inn today in Mount Bullion. Just a few miles up Highway 49 North from Mariposa. Starts at 10 in the morning if memory serves me right, and you can buy a ticket that lets you sample the chili. If I am wrong, well anyway you are out for the day, enjoy it. Friends Indeed played at the park last night and it was a very enjoyable night. Good music (funny lyrics if you listened to the words), good friends, beautiful weather. What else could a person want? Tonight at the Arts Park in Downtown Mariposa next to the Pizza Factory, Mike Hammer and The Nails will be playing the Blues. Admission is free, but tips are greatly appreciated and it all starts at about 7:00 in the evening. |

you little rascal - you're right that we know where that sign is. the sign was abandoned years ago and we found it at caltrans midpines, in a pile of junk. rob says it came off of hwy 49 north between mariposa and the north county line, the other side of coulterville. that's all he knows. it's probably from the 40s, when it was called "divison of highways," not cal trans. |
