The past couple of days at the Goldrushcam have been very busy as we have been tied down with computer problems. We figure a new hard drive is in order to take care of all the photos that we take every month. A DVD burner would be nice too! Maybe Santa will be good to us. To all the people affected by Hurricane Katrina, our hearts and thoughts go out to you. The devastation that this hurricane caused is almost beyond belief! Where these people will go and live for the next few years I do not know. Watching some of the photos as the people walked around only with what they could carry reminds one of the photos from the dust bowl days. Times like these, gives oneself to reflection on what is really important in life. |

What happened to the gas station owners mind in Mariposa and the surrounding area? They decided that this hurricane gave them the right to raise prices 30- 40- 50 cents on gasoline overnight! Check out the gas prices in Modesto. 2.69 at a small gas station on Crows Landing Rd. in Modesto. Here is a link to valley gas prices: http://www.modestogasprices.com/ When you go the valley please fill up there and leave these gas gougers with their fuel! Fresno gas is at about 2.70 What is up with that? I believe in shopping locally, but what I have witnessed in the past few days tells me about how these owners feel about us and the tourists who visit up here. |

Jerry, These gas prices are el toro poo poo, meaning just plain old bull. When the price per barrel of crude goes down the prices do not drop! the station owners say O' we are paying for the price of crude in the line. We the custermers are just taken advantage of over and over. Bush needs to release OIL out of the reserves NOW!

So right you are Bob! Hey, we were going to eat tonight at a pizza place in town but since gas is up 30 to 50 cents a gallon and a 20 gallon fill up is now 6- 10 dollars more than a couple days ago, guess where the money will go? Sorry kids and the owner of the pizza parlor |

i have to disagree with "release oil out of the reserves" because what happens when the reserves are gone? i think we need some long term solutions. sorry i don't know what they are. |
