We had eight of the girls in the yard this morning as they try to get enough to eat before winter arrives. And with the cloud cover we had yesterday keeping us below 60 for a high maybe winter is not too far off. Last year on this date, we had over 3.5 inches of rain. In fact the month of October gave us almost 12 inches of rain! We even had snow in October last year. |

Good Morning, Grizzy, in the photo yesterday, the arch is in the left top of the photo. It does not show the other end of the arch.Hey, maybe Keith will take you there and show you the full arch. I read that from the 120 it is about a 11-12 mile round trip hike at about 8,000 ft elevation. Just a day hike they call it |

Keith, put me on the sign up list for light hiking in or around Yosemite. In fact I am hoping to make it up to Tioga Pass and Sonora Pass before they close for the winter. There is a hike over by Sonora that I have not done that is supposed to be to the biggest grove of Aspens in the ? (World? California? I forget due to CRS). Wait I found the story in the news archive: BELL MEADOW HIKE: Tuolumne River Trust on Sunday hosts a hike through Bell Meadow, home to the largest stand of quaking aspen in the southern half of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. View fall foliage displays on this two to three-mile walk in the Clavey River headwaters, just east of Highway 108 and Pinecrest Lake.

we went over tioga a couple of years ago, to camp in the campground right at the bottom on the other side. we woke up the next morning and couldn't get back! plus i had to go to work! we finally got back through sonora, which was still open. so i suggest, if you're gonna go look at trees, you better get going! about the items in your sheriff's log, yeah, people do go crazy once in a while. |
