A Whale Carved From Manzanita,Oakhurst Photos,Oakhurst 2005

An artist vision in wood is a treat for us !
This manzanita wood whale was featured at the
2005 Oakhurst Fall Festival.
Going back later to see who carved such
beautiful work, the display had been taken
down because of rain in the area.
E-mail the Goldrushcam if you know
who did this piece.

Morning Grizzy, do you think the moon has anything to do with the way people behave?
Or maybe they just need to sleep with their
head pointing North !
By the way, the Old Farmers Almanac predicts average rainfall and warmer temps than normal for this winter. We will watch and see.

Morning Jerry
on looking back at previous photos you have a set
of Christmas Parade 2004. Any idea if there is a
Christmas Parade planned for this year ?
if so , any idea of the date.. or what was the
date of last years one ??
Where abouts was it... I assume through the streets
of down town ?

thanks for the info
Richard

Yes, you are right, the parade is on the hiqhway through downtown Mariposa.
It is a lot of fun.
Not to be missed is the giant bonfire or two in front of the courthouse in the evening and then Santa arrives.
The parade starts at 11:00 A.M., but remember,up here we are on Mariposa time as some people call it :-)
