Okay,the weekend is near, let us see what is going on this weekend.
The Biggee ! (Is that a word ?)
The Mariposa Gem and Mineral Club will meet tonight at the State Mineral Museum located by the
Mariposa County Fairgrounds at 7:00 PM
Free admission. Besides all the fun things they do at their regular meetings, a video on Opals will be shown and then discussed.
But then on Saturday we will make our way up to Yosemite for the day and evening learning about the rocks and minerals of the Sierra Range.
For a fun and entertaining Friday and Saturday please come to the Museum tonight for more information on the Saturday Field Trip.
On Saturday in Mariposa:
Mariposa Lion’s Club BBQ and Dance
Fish and Game Hall, 5056 Darrah Road (Bootjack), 3 p.m. – 10 p.m.; BBQ: 3p.m.; Dance: 6 p.m.
All proceeds will go to benefit the funding of the After School Extra Curricular Activity Bus
Tickets: $12.00 per person…Fun for the entire Family!!! Live Music by “Mariposa Country”

Go for a ride in the lower foothills and look for migrating Tarantulas. Take your camera !
Go for a ride over Sonora Pass before the winter storms close it. Take your camera !
Go for a ride up Highway 41 to Yosemite and walk through the big tree grove before winter sets in and the parking lot is closed and you need snow shoes ! Remember take your camera !
Have a fun weekend, The Goldrushcam Crew will be in Yosemite with the Gem Club Mambers.
