Butterfly On The Rocks,Mariposa Photos,Mariposa 2005

This butterfly is sitting on a chunk of granite
that is possibly thousands of years old
and was once in Yosemite National Park,
but now has been washed downstream
into the Merced River Canyon after
thousands of spring thaws.

To learn more about these rocks, meet at the Miners Inn at 10 in the morning today for a fun journey up the canyon with many stops along the way to learn the history of the canyon.
And then into Yosemite to see the the sunset from Sentinel Dome.
