By the way, a great local hike right now is to Chilnualna Falls out of Wawona. The black oaks are a bright yellow and the huge potholes would make for great swimming if you don't mind cold water. The lens used was a Canon 100-400L IS, Set at 400mm with image stablization turned and on hand held ! I really like this lens a lot. Maybe I will try that hike, but first I have to look it up to see how far it is and I realllyyyy am not to crazy about meeting up with a bear as I like my Snickers in my pocket and would not like to share it with Mr. Bear. I bet around the campfire you could tell a good bear story or two.
