Bridalveil Fall in Yosemite National Park on
a early January morning waits for the sun
to shine on its silvery ribbon of cascading
water free falling over the rim.

Cathedral Rocks with a dusting of snow seems to tower over Bridalveil Fall in this photo taken a week or so ago in the valley. No storms have blew through since so the scene must still look close to the same.

It dripped and dropped up here yesterday giving us .01 of an inch of rain, not much but we will take all we can for the trees really need it !
A cold weekend is in store for us according to the weather service, so maybe this weekend we will finally see a flurry or two :-)

After finishing the book, Yosemite by Margaret Sanborn, we can highly recommend it on our book site.
She starts with the very first people to inhabit Yosemite up until the death of Chief Tenaya's granddaughter.
You will learn to love some of the individuals in the book and hate others !
Tid Bit - The real Grizzly Adams had a cabin in the Merced River Canyon area !
I wish I could run up the mountains the way John Muir is described as doing.
John Muir had a handle on what life is really about. Thanks to him Yosemite is what it is today without pigs running around in the valley.
I have since made a solo trip into Yosemite since starting the book and now look at the valley with a renewed sense of appreciation as the old stories swirl through my mind.
I want to climb and run up the mountains with the ghost of Mr. Muir at my side !
Just one question I have about the book.
The author mentions that the Indians had a certain way to run in the mountains, described by John Muir in a later chapter but I need more detail so I can run like that :-)

We took the winter bird feeder down from the live camera and placed it closer to the ground and sure enough the birds found it. Now we will slowly day by day raise it back up so it can be seen on camera and hopefully the birds will follow it. We thought about putting signs up saying bird food here with an arrow but decided against it when no one wanted to make the signs !
So give it a few days and we will have the feeder back up to the right height, we hope :-)
