Looking Up To The Top Of Half Dome In Yosemite National Park,Yosemite Photos,Yosemite 2006

Sitting on a huge granite rock on a warm quiet January day
in Yosemite and gazing up towards the top of Half Dome,
the feelings toward Yosemite that John Muir had, rush
through the senses giving a smiling peace over one's face.

While reading two books by John Muir at the same time: The Yosemite and My First Summer In The Sierra and then taking a trip into Yosemite Valley the appreciation one has for this land becomes more pronounced.
I like to take people with me into Yosemite and show them around but when I want to get serious about what Yosemite means to me I travel by myself and let my emotions and the scenery become one. I do not make very good time on my hikes as I like to poke around and just look at what could be hidden around that next corner.
It seems like some of the people that pass me by are going so fast on their way to get somewhere they miss the journey!!

Regarding Groundhog Day yesterday, it depended on what time of day it was in the county and where you were located. So some places had rain others had sunshine.
So with my 'expert' opinion when I checked to see what the day was going to be like outside, the rabbits in the yard could not see their shadow no matter how they tried, so I say we will not have six more weeks of winter!!
