As the clouds were dripping on us off and on we stopped for awhile at Bagby to watch the fishermen have fun. This photo is looking South toward Coulterville. On the far end of the bridge on the right hand side is a outcropping of Serpentine rock that can be cut and polished into cabochons. But since it has abestos in the rock care must be taken when working with it. It is a very soft slippery feeling stone. Lake McClure has a long history of many gold mines located around it and with gold washing down every year from the Merced River there is probably a large pot of gold in the lake !!
