about twenty years before his death.

The Yosemite Cemetery has quite a few graves in it.
I highly recommend to read some history books on Yosemite before visiting the cemetery as it will give you more insight on the gravestones and who these people were.

"Mountains of Minerals" Mariposa Mineral & Gem Show
April 15, 2006 - April 16, 2006
The annual Mariposa Mineral & Gem show will be at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds on Highway 49, just two miles south of Mariposa and will feature vendors of fine mineral specimens, jewelry and lapidary arts, as well as mineral exhibits, children's activities, guest speakers, food booths, raffles and silent auctions. The State Mining & Mineral Museum, which houses California's spectacular mineral collection, is also at the Fairgrounds. Come in and see breathtaking specimens of rare crystallized gold and minerals. Learn about California's rich mining history as you tour our mine tunnel. The show is open Saturday, April 15, 2006, from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., and Sunday, April 16, 2006, from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Parking and admission are FREE.
