Sierra Foothill Conservancy Hosts Dessert and Coffee Reception at The River Rock Deli Thurs. Feb 21st -
The Sierra Foothill Conservancy extends an open invitation to the community to help welcome Bridget Fithian to the organization and to learn more about contributing to the conservation of our rural way of life. The Sierra Foothill Conservancy has protected over 15,450 acres of natural lands in Mariposa, Madera, and Fresno Counties. Over 5,000 acres of that land are located in Mariposa County. Bridget is currently developing a series of hikes, classes, and special events in the Mariposa foothills.

Join us February 21st at the River Rock Cafe on 7th St. in Mariposa from 5-7pm, with a short presentation at 6pm and an indulgent spread of Vickie’s delicious desserts and coffee.

FROGS, FISH AND FUNGUS: DISAPPEARANCE OF A YOSEMITE SPECIES
Monday, February 25, 2008 5:30 - 7:00 pm FREE Midpines Community Hall   Dr. Steve Thompson, Wildlife Biologist, Yosemite National Park,  will share the issues surrounding the Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog population decline. Learn about the combination of factors that have let to this situation and what park managers are doing in an attempt to prevent the extinctionb of this species from Yosemite National Park.
