Inspector Kluso - Refugee from the Ferguson Rock Slide

I was living the good life with my person in Mariposa. I had enjoyed every minute of my 10 months. Then came the Ferguson Rock Slide. I wasn’t sure what that was, but I soon found out that my person, a Yosemite Park Employee, was gone almost all the time. He told me he couldn’t be my person anymore and he took me to the Mariposa SPCA. They were very nice to me, but I couldn’t run free anymore. I had lots of energy and needed a home where I could run free.
Unbeknownst to me the Mt Bullion Conservation Camp had been looking for a dog for several weeks. When Jeanette Lozano, the shelter manager, saw me she knew it would be a match made in Doggy Heaven.
I
have been assigned to the Mt Bullion Camp. It just doesn’t get any better than this. Tanna, a German Shepherd Gray Hound, is
showing me the ropes. Garrett Mullenaux has been assigned as my personal trainer. I have been given a new name, Max, after
my favorite movie dog from The Incredible Journey. The sleeping arrangements are
flexible and allows me to curl up on any bunk in the barracks. Everybody seems to like me and wants me to sleep on their bunk.
My only restrictions are no chocolate and no chicken bones. Anything else that makes its way out of the chow hall is fair game.
According to Lieutenant Irving Torres part of my duties will be to greet visitors to the camp. Trainer Mullenaux seems to be very pleased that I have not done my business in the barracks. Another part of my training is to run around the track with the men each morning. They seem a little slow, but I am sure with my help they will improve.
I
am looking forward to long and happy life and many new friends.
