As tomorrow is a big voting day the staff at the Sierra Sun Times has some information and thoughts on November 7, 2006
.

The chart on the right shows the breakdown of voters in Mariposa County.
With 79.32% of eligible voters registered Mariposa County has a higher percentage number of registered voters than the state totals which show 22,652,190 eligible voters with 15,837,108 or 69.91% registered to vote.

Important reminder:

November 7 is the last day to apply for and vote an absentee ballot in person at the office of the County  Elections Official

The polls are open from 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M on November 7.

Do not believe the ads on the television, Read !!

Have any of the candidates that are running for the school board called you or stopped you on the street and told you about their qualifications  that makes them superior to the other candidates to make choices for your children.
No !
Well neither have we !


Take endorsements very carefully !
Remember some endorsements have agendas !!


If you do not know about the candidate or the issue, do not vote !
Hopefully the informed voter will make a good choice for us !


The propositions are a land mine waiting to explode.
Read all you can !!
Be very careful of what you vote for !!


Last but not least, just for the fun of it let us watch the fuel prices for now and until a period of time after the election. As of November 6 from MSN the cheapest fuel in the country is in Clark Hill, South Carolina at $1.64 a gallon, the US average is $2.18 a gallon,
Pioneer Gas in Mariposa is at $2.59 a gallon,
Diamond Shamrock in Oakhurst at $2.33 a gallon and finally in Fresno, Ca., Costco at Ashlan is $2.25
