The election is over most of the ballots have been counted and the results are as follows. These are still unofficial results until they are certified In Mariposa County: Out of 11,251 eligible voters 7,233 votes were cast for a 64.20% turnout. 3,360 voters went to the precincts to vote while 3,873 absentee ballots were turned in. On the state propositions only two passed in Mariposa County, they were Measure 1A, the transporation fund bond and Prop 83, the sex offender reform measure. The majority of Californians agreed as Measure 1A passed easily. Also Prop 83 passed easily as 70.5 % of California voters passed this Measure. The closest measure in Mariposa County was Prop 85 the parental notification measure. Only 30 votes separated the majority from the minority as it went down in defeat. The Republican vote ruled in Mariposa County as all the elected positions went to the Republican Party. George Radanovich cruised to an easy win statewide as he beat challenger T.J. Cox by almost 30,00 votes. In the local races Janette Gamble handily defeated her challenger as she took 65 % of the votes.
