“A Day with the Artist”, Master Ceramist Amy Morgan will be in the Gallery on Saturday, December 2^nd from 11 AM-5PM.  Amy will be demonstrating work on the potter’s wheel, hand building & hand carving techniques throughout the day!  “The Orchard” (whimsical yet profound), is a new body of work by Amy. The masterpiece of the series is her “Tree of Life”, which now available and on display at Stellar Gallery.

Photographer David Ashcraft will be our Artist in residence during the December 9^th Art Hop from 5 to 8 PM. David Ashcraft will be available for discussion during the evening. His new abstract series entitled “Flames of Passion” is a must see! Love, life & heat!

Also during the December 9^th Art Hop Mariposa Jewelry Artist Yvonne Sarazin will be demonstrating wire-wrapping techniques during the evening. We have a collection of fine gem stone pendants of crystal Amethyst or Citrine, polished Turquoise or Moukaite, hearts carved of Agate or blue Swarovski crystal, all are exquisitely hand crafted and available at Stellar.

Our Sponsored Sierra Art Trails Artist for December is Wood Turner Ken Maggard. Ken crafts a piece working with it’s natural shape, infusing the natural voids, mapping, figuring and spalting a piece may have. We currently have a collection of Maple, Olive Burl and English Walnut vessels to choose from.

Blown Glass Artist Geoffrey Vassallo has a current body of work, which is an under sea series including fish, octopus and sea urchins. Also are works by Christian Guenther, who is famous for his large eccentric multi-colored art glass sculptures, bowls and vases.

During December, Stellar Gallery is a Toys of Tots location. Our local Marine Corp League 1121 is handling the collection and distribution of toys. This organization has helped needy children since 1947. All donated toys must be unwrapped and are collected and distributed locally to children of our mountain community.

Stellar Gallery offers a permanent collection of fine art photography by Owner, Jonathan Bock, whose images derive from Ancient Aboriginal rock art, and Heidi Vetter whose well known for her images of the High Sierra landscape.
