Mariposa County Fire Chief Blaine Schultz Takes The Microphone After Receiving
A Resolution Plaque From Mariposa County Supervisor Lee Stetson Upon His Retirement
From The County.

Mariposa Fire Chief, Blaine Schultz, retired from Mariposa County after ten years of service to the county.
He said to the Board of Supervisors that it has been a marvelous experience working for the county and that he was "Honored to work for you".
Mr. Schultz then preceded to thank all his staff that were in attendance after he accepted a plaque from the county naming all the accomplishments he performed for the county.

The new Fire Chief was finally announced after a closed session meeting. Jim Wilson is the new Fire Chief for Mariposa County.
 
In other business, Lee Stetson said that CalTrans was not on board as far as doing something with the temporary bridges to allow longer length vehicles to use the bridges. Cost of doing this and the time of closing the road again for these repairs were mentioned as reasons they do not support the idea, while they concentrate on getting a permanent fix in place for the Ferguson Ridge Slide.

 		   Ken Gosting of Transportation Involves Everyone, (TIE), said that Yarts was dropping the ball on some of its runs as he was left three nights in Midpines as no Yarts bus came through the area. As Mariposa County kicks in $136,000 a year to Yarts he was hoping the Board Of Supervisors would look into the situation.

The Board also heard  from Supervisor Lee Stetson about the Scoping Meeting last week for the El Portal Road in Yosemite National Park. Leroy Radanovich also spoke to the Board of Supervisors about the condition of the El Portal Road. He said " It was a serious situation " as far as the road just collapsing if nothing is done.

The Board went into Recess until 1:00 PM when they reconvened for a public meeting on updating the Mariposa County General Plan.
