On Saturday, December 12, 2006 after the Mariposa Merry Mountain Christmas Parade in downtown Mariposa where the weather was cold and windy, you could stroll over to the warm Mariposa County Library across from the Courthouse and meet two local authors who were there signing books that they just had published by Harlequin in their Superromance series of books.

Debra Salonen from Catheys Valley has many  romance books published since her first book came out in 2000, she had a few different ones with her that day if you wanted a special one autographed by her.

Kimberly Van Meter, born and raised in Mariposa but now living in Oakdale, Caifornia was there signing her fist published book and was proud of her accomplishment:  'The Truth About Family' a romance book.
Kimberly also has another book already accepted by Harlequin, 'Father Material' to be published in the summer of 2007.


 		   Congratulations Kimberly for having your first published book and Congratulations to Debra for having another book published in a very competitive market.

After taking photos, talking to both authors and feeling a lot warmer after being in the heated library it was back outside under threatening skies to watch the preparations of the bonfire for the evening events that were to begin in a few hours with Santa arriving on a fire truck.
