On a sunny Wednesday morning, December 20, 2006, families started lining up with their children who were patiently waiting for the volunteer workers inside of one of the buildings at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds to finish up getting the presents all arranged and open the doors.

Inside the building, volunteers were busily trying to arrange all the toys in a presentable order.
They had their work cut out for them as the only time
you will ever see this amount of toys in one place is probably at Wal Mart before the Christmas rush
.

Carefully the toys were arranged.

The two bikes in the foreground of this photo were only
the beginning of what was next to see !

A row of brand new bikes stretched on and on, all
with helmets, shiny reflective stickers and eye
catching colors !

Aisles and aisles of brand new toys, just waiting to
played with !

Mariposa County Deputy Fred Paige along with Nicole Gilmore noted that the Shadowcasters Motorcycle Club
of Mariposa donated almost $4,500 to this event. Altogether between this program and the Shop With A Cop program close to $10,000 including the money from the Shadowcasters had been donated
from the community !

On the left hand side wall along with a good portion of the back wall, coats that had  been donated by the community and professionally cleaned in Oakhurst, California were all displayed carefully. The coats were just waiting for someone to try them on and take them home.
The EMT's who staff the ambulance in Mariposa were the ones  responsible for the very successful coat drive.

At the other end of the building Manna House with the help of many volunteers had a complete Christmas Dinner made up for the community.

The bags included: two cans of green beans, olives, cranberries, fresh oranges, yams, box of dressing, package of instant potatoes, quart of milk, pound of margarine, loaf of bread, frozen turkey and frozen pie.

225 bags of food were made up. Manna House also donated fifty turkeys to Coulterville personnel who were giving food to north county families.
Also, the toys left over were donated by the Deputies to north county.
The money to purchase the food was paid for by Manna House, which came from many cash donations from individuals, organizations, churches, businesses and schools. MCHS donated over $2,000 to Manna House in support of the Christmas food drive.
