Mariposa County Unemployment Report For August 2006
 

The Mariposa County Unemployment rate for August 2006 stood at 4.1%. A drop of .5% from the July report and also.5% down from August of 2005.

The State of California unemployment rate for August was 4.9% a drop of .2% from the July report and a .3% drop from August 2005.

The United States unemployment rate for August was 4.6% a drop of a .4% drop from July and .3% drop from August 2005.

The above numbers are not adjusted for seasonality.

9,480 people were employed during August in Mariposa County while 410 were out looking for work. That compares to 450 residents who were looking for work in July and also August 2005.

180 more residents were employed this August than August 2005.

Of the 9,480 workers 2,190 work for the government, 2,470 work in the leisure and hospitality industry and 10 individuals work on farms.
