Gary helped form and participated with a citizens group from Eastern Fresno County in persuading the Fresno County Board of Supervisors to conduct a water study for the water short areas of Shaver Lake, Prather, Auberry and Squaw Valley.  The water study concluded that some of these areas were using slightly more water than they are recharging with its current population.  Gary recently received an award from the Sierra Nevada Alliance for his work in coordinating this effort with the County Board.  He is a retired architect.
