NEW MEDICAL & FIRE RESPONSE VEHICLE AT BOOTJACK

Supervisor Bob Pickard (L)and Dianne Fritz(R) hand over the keys to Bootjack Captain Ruby Pearson (CL).
On hand for the presentation is Deputy Fire Chief Jim Middleton.
The Mariposa County Board of Supervisors approved the grant to add Patrol 37 to the County Fire fleet.
The grant to obtain the new unit is 100% reimbursable.
This new unit is classified as a patrol and is a 2006 Ford F450 truck with a fire pump and 300 gallons of water.
The patrol’s units are primarily used by the fire department for quick response to medical emergencies and vehicle accidents.
They carry medical equipment and the Bootjack Patrol carries the Jaws of Life. They also have the ability to assist with a
structure fire.
In action taken during this fiscal year the Board of Supervisors has also approved 4 more patrols.
The funding comes from both grants and tobacco funds. Designated fire station for the new units are Don Pedro, Mt Bullion, Mormon
Bar and Lushmeadows.
All will be of similar design to the one stationed at Bootjack.
