2017 CoyoteFest adDon’t Miss the CoyoteFest… A Howl of a Great Time!

August 17, 2017 - On Saturday, September 23rd, this year’s CoyoteFest, the largest and most fun annual event in northern Mariposa County, turns Coulterville back into a boomtown for the day!  Featuring the 32nd annual Coyote Howl, a car show, pony rides, the Coyote Hill Band, an array of kids’ activities, vendor booths filled with unique merchandise and all sorts of other entertainment and activities, it is a day of FREE Family Fun for Everyone!!!

A parade down Historic Main St. kicks off the day at 10:00 a.m.  Fourth generation Mariposan Alan Haigh will be this year's Grand Marshall. 

Entrance to Both the Park & the Car Show is Free!
There are no admission fees to enjoy the live music and entertainment in either the park or on Main St. and there’s free parking at the lots on the corner of Park Lane and Broadway.  This is all thanks in large part to Allied Auto, who once again is the CoyoteFest Event Sponsor and Car Show Sponsor!

Main Street Happenings
The Car Show, featuring an array of vintage, classic and sports cars begins at 10:00 a.m.; folks can vote for their favorite through 2:00 p.m.  Music will be filling the air compliments of Big Table Ranch, who are also providing an upgraded sound system for the parade.  The Main Street merchants will be offering Howlin’ great specials on their wares and Coyote Consignments has a “Customized Coyote Howl T-Shirt contest going on.  There will be 3 free showings of Road Runner cartoons at the John Muir Geotourism Center with free popcorn at each.

Coulterville Park… “Where It’s At”
Both the Coyote Howl and Horseshoe Contests take place in the park, where the contest will share center stage with the Coyote Hill Band.  The LDP Line Dancers will once again strut their stuff and Mr. Stilts will be sauntering around on those long legs of his.  The Kid’s Korner will feature prizes and games; there’s face painting, a bounce house, pony rides, “Zippy” electric rides and so much more!  Dozens of vendors will feature an array of craft and vintage goods along with kettle corn; jams/jellies, baked goods, hamburgers ‘n hot dogs, BBQ, tacos & enchiladas, soda, water, beer, CoyoteFest souvenir T-Shirts and more! 
CoyoteFest pic The 32nd Annual Coyote Howl Contest will once again be front and center.  Sign-ups take place in the park until shortly before each category contest begins: Pup, Pup-Pack, Adult and Family Pack competitions.  All ages welcome!  There are $100 cash prizes in every category for the most wowin’ howl! The 50/50 Horseshoe Contest gets started early in the day.  If you have not signed in advance and slots are still available, you can sign up on site. Pit Boss Dennis Fiske will be accepting registrations beginning at 9:00 a.m. or register in advance by calling Linda Clark at (209) 742-6653.  The cost is $10 for a team of two (ages 12 & up).  Winners split the pot.  The contest begins after the parade, around 10:30 a.m.  Come and join us regardless of your skill level.  It’s a fun event for the whole family!

Lot’s ‘n Lots of Raffle Prizes!
This year’s array of great raffle prizes will benefit the Greeley Hill School parent’s group.  Prizes are flowing in and include all sorts of prizes.  There will also be a 50/50 raffle.

Last minute registrations …for the parade…car show…vendor booth…OK, although the Car show is capped at 65 cars.  Facebook fans, be sure you are “following” the CoyoteFest Facebook page!  We still need some “worker bees” the day prior to and the day of the event… parking cars, helping organize vendors, etc., call the Northern Mariposa County History Center at (209) 878-3015 and leave your contact info and reason you are calling so that the right person contacts you.  Or go to the CoyoteFest.org website and register online NOW!
