The Mariposa County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team will be hosting the 7th Annual Fundraising Dinner on Saturday, March 4, 2017. The event will be held in Building A at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds. Technical demonstrations will begin at 5 PM. The 6 PM sit-down rib, sausage, beans and salad dinner will be prepared by the Lions Club and served by SAR Team members.
A limited number of $25 tickets are available from SAR and Posse members and at the Sheriff's Office. Contact Kristie or Andrea at (209) 966-3615 for information and tickets.
Raffle prizes will include guns, outdoor gear, a catered dinner and a wide variety of other items. Six special cakes will also be auctioned.
The SAR Team is made up of volunteer members ranging from high school students to retirees. Members are required to provide their own equipment, which ranges from GPS units to backpacks, climbing harnesses, headlamps and Jeeps. The equipment and training are expensive, and, with the exception of Swiftwater Rescue equipment, nearly everything is bought by members or through donations.
