Sierra Foothill Charter School held its Eighth Grade Promotion Ceremony on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. It was a very memorable ceremony celebrating these special students.
SFCS 1719Congratulations to: (top row) Jacqueline Telles-Trujillo, Spencer Baumann, Emilee Cordero, Marilyn Kleiman-Moore, Gabriel Edwards, Zachary Wanger, Skylee Butler, Jaden DuBois, (bottom row) Trevor McClard, Bayleigh Davis, Daniela Ortiz-Garagarza, Clifton "Mikey" Owens, Kolton Olson, and Bradlie Teixeira. They are standing with teacher Andrea Contreras (far left).
SFCS 1665Students took turns walking down the aisle, then turned and faced their audience, as Trevor McClard is doing here, before taking their spot for the ceremony.

After a welcome by Principal/Superintendent Mindy Bolar and a very moving slideshow that included each student through the years, from babyhood until the present, put together by teacher Wendy Baumann, a few students chose to say a few words they had prepared for the occasion.
SFCS 1676Emilee Cordero addresses the audience.
SFCS 1707 1Then teacher Andrea Contreras spoke a few words about each student before calling them up to receive their promotion certificate,  shake hands with herself and Principal Bolar, and pose for pictures as Jacqueline Telles-Trujillo is doing here.

After the ceremony, there were many hugs, photo opportunities, and time for family and friends to visit and enjoy the moment.

SFCS will miss this wonderful class, but know they will continue on to do great things in high school and beyond. They are always welcome to come back to their elementary campus to visit.
