The last day of the school year at Sierra Foothill Charter School was Thursday, June 9, 2017. It was a half day filled with many fun activities from signing yearbooks; games, movies, and special treats in classrooms; more games and time to hang out on the field; and hungry human hippos in the multi. Students spent the first part of the morning in their classrooms and then came together with outdoor and indoor activities for the last few hours. All had a great time!

Everyone enjoyed looking through this year's yearbook and signing their names to their friends' pages. This was the TK/K's class first experience with yearbooks. Their teacher, Chelsea Stillwell enjoyed explaining to them how the book includes pictures from the school year and is a keepsake, and the significance of carefully signing each others' books.
SFCS 0073TK/K students Brylee Bean and Tyler Collins discuss a signature in a yearbook while classmates Baily O'Connor  and Ares Goodman are at work on the task in the background.
SFCS 0112Erika Miranda's fifth and sixth graders enjoyed a paper airplane flying contest in their classroom and then posed with their creations.
SFCS 0085Wendy Baumann's first and second graders divided into teams and held a variety of contests, including cup stacking, getting an animal cracker from forehead to mouth without using hands, and stacking pennies with one hand behind their backs. Jane Adcock, Levi Evans, and Stella DuBois test their skills at penny stacking as teammates including Wyatt Parks, Noah Eastwood, and Devon Foster cheer them on.

Service Learning Coordinator Barbara Milazzo facilitated raucus games of Hungry Human Hippos. Keeping their bellies on wheeled boards with ropes attached, students were pushed and pulled by classmates into the center of a circle where they tried to collect as many balls as possible in their upside down baskets. After all balls are collected, the team with the most wins.
SFCS 0155Levi Evans, Peyton Totten, and Sage Inman battle for balls while teammates including Anna Soldevila Villalba and Michael Parks work to bring them in. Owen Eastwood is watching the game unfold.
SFCS 0196You're never too old for bubble blowing. Jaden DuBois, Marilyn Kleiman-Moore, and Clifford "Mikey" Ownens test their skills.

School resumes Wednesday, August 16, 2017.
