June 20, 2017 - With recreation back in full swing at Lake McClure, the Lights on the Lake fireworks show is planned for Saturday July 1.

“This is a spectacular show and a great time for families as we celebrate our nation’s Independence,” said MID Parks and Recreation Director Bret Theodozio.

The fireworks display will begin at dusk or around 9 p.m. Viewing-areas at McClure Point on Lake McClure will open to the public at 5 p.m.

Visitors are invited to enjoy the show from designated areas along the shore, or from their own boats. All nighttime navigation laws apply and will be enforced for those who are boating.

The entrance fee to MID Parks is $20 per vehicle the day of the event. Those with camping reservations will pay $10: any additional camping vehicles will be charged $20. A limited number of basic campsites are still available. Further information can be found at www.McClureFireworks.com or www.lakemcclure.com. By phone, call (209) 354-2954.

Entrance to Lake McClure will be the MID Parks at 9090 Lake McClure Road, Snelling. Visitors are welcome to arrive early and spend the day at Lakes McClure and McSwain.

The use of personal fireworks is strictly prohibited in Mariposa County.

Following five years of drought, Lake McClure is again full this year and nearly all recreation facilities have been returned to operation. The Barrett Cove Marina and store are again open and a new breakwater has been installed. The Barrett Cove Swim Areas are also now open with beach access, picnic tables and playground equipment.
