2018 Mariposa Blood Drive Schedule

February 8, 2018 - ‘Give the Gift of Life’.  Plan now to donate at all six of the scheduled blood drives.  The rule is one can donate blood every 8 weeks.  The Mariposa Community blood drives are scheduled accordingly.  All will be held at the Pioneer Market in Mariposa, located at 5034 Coakley Circle

  • Thursday, February 15, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 12, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 14, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 16, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 18, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, December 13, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The blood donation process usually takes about one hour to complete.  Donors must be in good general health, weight a minimum of 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old (16 years with written parental consent).  Senior citizens are encouraged to donate, as there is no upper age limit.  Donors should eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within four hours prior to their donation.  Photo ID and Social Security Number are required at donor registration.

The Central California Blood Center is the sole provider of blood and blood products for the 31 hospitals in Fresno, Tulare, Madera, Kings, and Mariposa Counties, including John C. Fremont Hospital.  It takes 5,000 to 6,000 pints of blood a month to fill the need.  Consider making blood donations part of your routine.  You can make a difference, you can ‘Give the Gift of Life’.
