May 24, 2018 - On Thursday, May 17, Sierra Foothill Charter School held its Spring Music Concert in the multipurpose room. Performances included the SFCS band, transitional kindergarten through second grade students on percussion instruments and the first and second graders on recorders, as well as students playing guitar, ukulele, violin, piano, xylophone, and drums, all under the direction of Music Instructor Gail Vanderslik. The SFCS Glee Club led by Dan Croft also performed. After the group and solo performances, the students and their very appreciative audience of family, friends, and community members enjoyed refreshments, including  cookies donated by Catheys Valley Chevron owner Paul Singh.
Transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students Milo Harrison, Echo Solis-White, Spencer Eastwood, Kade Videgain, Tennessee Blagg, Astrid Ardell, Sophie Bullis, Chloe Sheets, Lillan Engstrom, Eska Lipsey, and Valentin Telles-Trujillo perform using rhythm sticks under the direction of Gail Vanderslik.
Band students Elle Sexton on xylophone, Aidan Pierson on clarinet, and Wyatt Brouillette on drums perform "Sakura and Variations" together.
Creed Edwards, Tadd Sexton, Chloe Blagg, JJ Bolar, Rhu Jones, and Lily Graumann play together on guitar and ukulele.
Ares Goodman plays, "Anyone TicTacToe" on the piano. Music Instructor Gail Vanderslik helps him keep his place.
Dan Croft leads some of his Glee Club members including Chloe Blagg, Natalee Marundee, Atticus Yu, and Rhu Jones in a performance of "Lean on Me."
