July 20, 2018 - Washington—Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) on Thursday released the following statement on a resolution to block Russia from being allowed to interrogate Ambassador Michael McFaul:

Dianne Feinstein           “Vladimir Putin this week said the only way Russia would allow access to 12 Russian military intelligence officers indicted for hacking U.S. political parties is if the United States would allow Russia to interrogate Americans, including Ambassador Michael McFaul.

“It’s no surprise that Russians want to interrogate Americans, but it’s shocking that President Trump didn’t reject the request outright. It’s just one more example of Russia trying to exploit President’s Trump’s cozy relationship with Putin.

“I strongly support the resolution introduced today that condemns this idea and says in no uncertain terms that Russia should not be allowed to interrogate McFaul. If the president won’t protect Americans, Congress must act.”
