July 21, 2018 - The National Weather Service Hanford office reports hot temperatures will return for the entire San Joaquin valley and desert areas, as well as many foothill locations next week.
An Excessive Heat Watch is in now effect for the entire San Joaquin valley and adjacent foothills as well as the Kern County mountains and desert Tuesday morning through Thursday evening.
An Excessive Heat Watch means that a prolonged period of hot temperatures is expected.
The combination of hot temperatures and very warm nighttime temperatures could combine to create a dangerous condition in which heat illnesses are possible.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
