Northside Pet ConnectionWe are now well into “kitten season”, and looking back over the past few months it surprises us that not more citizens living in our service area (Lake Don Pedro, Greeley Hill, Coulterville, Big Oak Flat, and Groveland) have taken advantage of Northside Pet Connection’s voucher program for little or no-cost spay or neuter for their cats (or dogs). We are concerned that our outreach efforts have not been sufficient to keep the populace informed about NPC and what we do. You may have seen our information booths at various festivals and similar events, and we are grateful that several newspapers, such as the one you are now reading are willing to publish our news updates. However, more seems required.

During our Board Meeting of May 2, we discussed the possibility of recruiting an Outreach Coordinator, whose responsibility would be to find additional means of communicating with the public about NPC’s mission, goals and activities. This position would be in a volunteer capacity, just like all of us at NPC, and it could involve, for example, an hour a week, or whatever the individual wanted to put into it. If you or someone you know might be interested in such a position, please call Carmel at (209) 878-3134 or me 'Tom' at (209) 385-3503.

To refresh everyone’s memory, our voucher telephone number is (209) 732-6194. Call this number and the voucher coordinator will be in touch with you in a day or two to explain the program and take down contact information, as needed. We are proud of our work over the years of providing what is a humanitarian service, saving our communities from the problem of unwanted kittens and puppies. Thank you for your contributions and you support.
