Arsenic Photo PrintThe Mariposa County Arts Council presents Joseph Kesselring’s comedy, Arsenic and Old Lace at Mariposa County Park Amphitheater on October 7, 8, 14, 15 at 7 p.m., and October 16, 2016 at 2 p.m. Arsenic and Old Lace is one of the most loved and successful plays, and was originally run on Broadway with 1,440 performances and has been enjoyed by thousands of community theaters.

This production is directed by Fred Friedland, who directed Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge and Lanford Wilson’s The Rimers of Eldritch and is starring your favorite Mariposa actors: Connie Stetson, Ira Jones, Tina and Harve Dearing, Audrey Davis, Jim Mason, among others.

This hilarious black comedy revolves around Mortimer and his crazy family – two quirky spinster aunts and his two brothers: one who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt and one who is criminally insane. Mortimer, who is a drama critic in love with the reverend’s daughter, must deal with his maniacal family and decide whether to go through with his plans to marry the woman he loves. This play is appropriate for older children and up.

This production is being presented by the Mariposa Theatre Alliance as a program of Mariposa County Arts Council and Merced College Community Services. Tickets for Arsenic and Old Lace may be purchased at the Mariposa County Arts Council and online at: MariposaArtsCouncil.org

Tickets are $9 for Mariposa County Arts Council Members, $10 for students and senior citizens, and $12 for general admission.
