October 21, 2016 - The Madera County Sheriff Department reports on Friday, October 21, 2016 at approximately 1:08 A.M. Madera County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the 41000 block of Road 600 regarding a possible homicide. Deputies arrived and determined that it appeared the 68-year-old Ahwahnee resident dead outside his home. They quickly contained the crime scene and requested Madera County Sheriff Detectives and the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) unit respond to the location.

We are in the early stages of the investigation and will release more details as they become available, including cause of death. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday. The identification of the victim is not being released at this time due to next-of-kin notification.
