October 22, 2016 - The Mariposa County September 2016 unemployment rate of 5.0% is the same as September 2015 when the rate was also 5.0%. During September 2016, 440 residents were unemployed. A rise of ten residents (2.3%) from September 2015 when 430 residents were unemployed. 
 
The Leisure and Hospitality industry with 2,430 workers during September 2016 employed 130 fewer workers (-5.1%) than during August 2016 when 2,560 workers were in the industry. Compared to September 2015 the Leisure and Hospitality industry employed 10 additional workers (.4%) when the industry employed 2,420 workers. 

The Government employed the same number of employees in September 2016 (2,190) as September 2015.

Construction employment in September 2016 matched September 2015 with 170 employees.
 
The Civilian Labor Force came in at 8,680 during September 2016. The Labor Force increased by 10 (.1%) from September 2015 when the Labor Force was at 8,670.
 
There were 8,250 employees in the county during September 2016. Ten more employees than September 2015 when 8,240 residents were working in the county. That results in a year to year increase of .1%.
