October 25, 2016 - MERCED – Assemblymember Adam Gray presented a check for $1.115 Million to UC Merced Chancellor Dorothy Leland and campus public safety officials at UC Merced on October 19.  These funds were allocated to the campus at the request of Assemblyman Gray in the 2016-2017 state budget specifically to improve campus security measures at the UC Merced campus.

“As the campus prepares to double its footprint, there will be challenges. Those additional resources will help the university ensure the safety of every student, faculty member, and our community,” stated Gray.

“UC Merced is expected to grow to 10,000 students by 2020.  This money helps fund security infrastructure at the campus as it prepares for growth.”
