Mariposa 4-H Group Attends UC Davis Equine Field Day
On Saturday, October 22, 2011 the 2011-2012 Mariposa County Horse and Pony Project 4-H group attended the UC Davis Equine Field Day, along with Leader Carol Suggs, Assistant Leader Jodi Bagwell, Resource Leader Marvin Krammer and Chaperone Christy Wall.
The group enjoyed a variety of seminars throughout the day and were able to meet Dr. Jan Roser, who is a professor in the Department of Animal Science and who is in charge of equine science specialization. Dr. Roser in internationally recognized in her field of research and her major emphasis is endocrine/paracine/autocrine control of the reproductive function in the mare and stallion.
