Mariposa Butterfly Festival Seeking Volunteers
The Mariposa Butterfly Festival is seeking volunteers for the upcoming three day event that takes place during the first weekend in May. The Festival brings thousands into our community to celebrate the beauty, fantasy, and spirit of our county and town’s namesake “Mariposa” (which means “Butterfly” in Spanish). In order to host such an event WE NEED VOLUNTEERS … weather it is from an individual, family, school, business, group, or organization. This festival is filled with so much joy, arts & crafts, music & entertainment, a parade, colorful hats, beautiful costumes, a quilt show, a sea of butterfly wings, and educational opportunities about this fascinating little creature and Mariposa’s rich history. There are so many “happenings” within the festival that there is a place for every interest. It is a great festival to attend but an even better one to be an active part of. Interested?
Thursday evening, February 9th at the Miners Inn in Mariposa there will be a Butterfly Festival “Call for Volunteers” Meeting. Starting at 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. there will be a social and no host dinner hour. At 6 p.m. the official meeting will begin. Please plan on attending this very important and much needed meeting. If you can’t make it but are interesting in volunteering … either behind the scenes proceeding or during the Festival (May 4th, 5th & 6th) … please contact us through our website: www.MariposaButterflyFestival.org, by email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , via Facebook, or call or come by The Company Store – 5022B Hwy 140 – in downtown Mariposa (209) 966-3232.
Remember one hand clapping creates little sound … but multiply that by 10, 20, 100, or more and the sound not only fills the air but has become exhilarating and quite electric.
