Soroptimist Donates To Manna House
Manna House, a non-profit organization that provides emergency food to all in need, is the most recent recipient of a donation from Soroptimist International of Mariposa. Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world. In addition to participating in international projects, the Mariposa Club achieves this mission locally by giving scholarships to graduating seniors, presenting monetary awards to women that are the heads of their households seeking further education, and donating funds and services to organizations such as Ethos Youth Center, Mountain Crisis Services, Manna House and Heritage House.
On Saturday March 31, 2012 Soroptimist will be holding its 10th Annual Gold Rush Dinner Dance in the Sequoia Room, Mariposa Fairgrounds. This fun event is one of Soroptimist’s biggest fundraisers of the year and enables Soroptimist to support local projects, such as Manna House. For tickets to this event or more information about Soroptimist International of Mariposa please call Patricia Wight at (209) 742-7780.
