Mariposa AAUW In Co-Operation With Mountain Crisis Services And Ethos Center To Sponsor Speech Contest
Mariposa AAUW in co-operation with Mountain Crisis Services and Ethos Center is sponsoring a Speech contest for High School students on "Bullying...So What".
The theme was chosen because of its relevance to our high school students and offers a means to inform the community and raise awareness about bullying in Mariposa. The five minute themed speech is open to all high school students. Speeches will be given on Wed., February 15, 6:00 p.m. in the Fiester High School auditorium and is open to the public. Prizes will be awarded to the first 10 winners. The first place winner will receive $250 and automatically advance to the State Semi-Final competition in Sacramento where three finalists from throughout the state will be chosen and go on to the finals in April at the AAUW State convention.
AAUW, Mountain Crisis and Ethos will host a discussion regarding "Project Respect" and bullying in Mariposa at the event. Come and support our students in their speeches.
